ORMOND BEACH, Fla – The Ormond Beach Police Department said officers obtained an arrest warrant for Francisco Guzman-Rivera on Sept. 24, 2026, in connection with the Aug. 8, 2025, crash at East Granada Boulevard and Vining Court.
Guzman-Rivera faces charges of driving under the influence resulting in death, vehicular homicide and possession of cannabis of not more than 20 grams, according to police.

He was arrested Sept. 24 and taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
According to the Volusia County Department of corrections he is being held with no bond.
The crash happened around 9 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2025, when police, fire and EMS crews responded to the intersection for a serious two-vehicle crash.
Investigators said Guzman-Rivera, who was 22 at the time, was driving a black 2012 Ford Mustang convertible east on Granada Boulevard when he crashed into a white 2021 Toyota RAV4 driven by 68-year-old Paul Monroe Booker.
Police said Booker was turning left from Vining Court onto Granada Boulevard when the collision happened.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital as trauma alerts. Booker died from his injuries at the hospital.
At the time of the crash, police said preliminary findings indicated speed and alcohol may have contributed.
