OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies arrested two parents after a 2-year-old child was found wandering in the middle of a roadway late Saturday night, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded at 11:39 p.m. Sept. 26 to the area of Jones Road and Talisi Loop after a driver spotted the toddler walking in the road. The driver stopped, brought the child to safety and called 911.

Deputies say the child was wearing only a diaper and tank top, and was afraid and crying.
The sheriff’s office says they canvassed the neighborhood and found the front door open at a home in the 600 block of Talisi Loop. No one was inside, and deputies attempted to contact the residents listed at the address.
The child’s father, 36-year-old Johnny JeanBaptiste, was reached by phone but hung up, according to OCSO. Nearly an hour later, JeanBaptiste and the child’s mother, 32-year-old Stacia McMillian, arrived at the home.
The sheriff’s office says both parents were uncooperative and were arrested. JeanBaptiste and McMillian were booked into the Osceola County Jail, and face a charge of child neglect without great bodily harm.
The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified, and a family member took custody of the child.
