Dustin Hobbs, 25, was airlifted to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.

According to officials, Hobbs and Travis Ward, 21, were hunting together when Ward fired his gun at a hog. A single pellet of buckshot struck Hobbs, who was about 45 yards away from Ward with thick brush between them, officials said.

Ward helped Hobbs and flagged down an ATV, officials said. The ATV driver took Hobbs to a gate, where they were met by first responders.

Hobbs was listed in stable condition.
