Mount Dora neighbors involved in shooting, police say

No arrests made

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Mount Dora police are investigating a shooting Monday night between two neighbors who have refused to speak to authorities about the incident, police department officials said.

Police responded at 10:29 p.m. to Strathmore Circle on reports of a shooting. Officers found a man who had been shot. He was taken to Central Regional Hospital in stable condition. Police said the victim was alert, but refused to speak to authorities.

A second man at the scene cooperated with police, but "invoked his rights and has not spoken with detectives at this time," police said.

The two men involved are neighbors who live across the street from each other, according to the police report.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and no arrests have been made, police said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
