ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’re making Fourth of July plans, the forecast is looking pretty typical for Central Florida, but there is one developing weather feature that could still influence the holiday weekend.
As of the latest forecast, expect a classic early July pattern with hot and humid afternoons, highs in the low 90s, and scattered showers and thunderstorms developing each day. Not everyone will see rain, but afternoon and evening storms will remain possible throughout the holiday weekend.
The biggest question mark is an area off the coast of the Carolinas that is being monitored by the National Hurricane Center. As of Monday, there is a low 10% chance of tropical development.
Conditions remain marginally favorable for some tropical development over the next few days, as it drifts south and west.
At this point, forecast confidence is still leaning towards a typical Florida summer pattern, but it’s still too early to determine whether the low will play a role locally.
