Ocoee police arrest woman accused of running over 3 people

Jahwah Smith charged with aggravated battery

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The driver accused of running down three people after a fight last weekend has been arrested, officials with the Ocoee Police Department said.

Jahwah Smith, 21, was in an argument Sunday evening in Coventry Park when a fight broke out, according to the police report.

Witnesses told police Smith got into her car and intentionally drove into the group of people, striking three of them before turning around and running over them again.

Police said Smith left the area in a white Chevy four-door vehicle, believed to be a Cruze. A warrant for Smith’s arrest was later issued.

The victims were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. One of the victims had a broken knee, the two others had minor injuries, police said.

Smith was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a vehicle.

She remains in the Orange County Jail Wednesday after a judge set Smith’s bail at $2,500. Records show Smith was on probation for another offense in South Florida when the incident at Coventry Park happened.
