Pedestrian killed in Orange County crash, troopers say

Jesus Magadan Palacios ID'd as victim,. FHP says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 42-year-old Orlando man was struck and killed Monday night while attempting to cross a road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jesus Magadan Palacios died in the crash, which was reported at 9:10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Road and Defiance Avenue.

Troopers said a Jeep SUV driven by a 23-year-old Orlando man was westbound on Oak Ridge Road when Palacios walked into the path of the vehicle.

The Jeep hit Palacios, who was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.

The driver, who was wearing his seat belt, was not injured. Alcohol did not play a role in the crash, the FHP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
