ORLANDO, Fla. - A rash of trash fires in Orlando has prompted authorities to investigate whether they're connected.

Firefighters said nine garbage fires have been reported in the Lake Eola Heights district over the last week.

The most recent happened Thursday morning at a home on North Hillside Avenue. The flames spread from a dumpster to a fence and a pickup truck.

The homeowner heard a crackling noise and used a hose to fight the fire.

"I didn't even know it had touched the truck when I first came out," the neighbor said. "I was like, 'You want me to move the truck?' He was like, 'You can't move the truck, it's on fire.' I was like, 'Oh, my gosh!"

Another nearby dumpster was also set on fire.

Anyone with information about the fires is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
