ULA Atlas V rocket launches 29 Amazon Leo broadband satellites

Launch happened at 12:30 a.m. Thursday

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket lifted off early Thursday morning from Florida’s Space Coast.

Launching at 12:30 a.m. from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, the rocket delivered 29 broadband satellites for Amazon’s Leo constellation.

The launch marks ULA’s eighth Leo mission, bringing the total satellites delivered by the company to 224 — roughly 60% of the 375-plus satellite constellation now in orbit.
