Hey Insiders, itâs Chief Meteorologist Candace Campos on what has been a very busy week for us here in Central Florida.
While the rain is very welcome news, unfortunately, the rain comes with a bit of a caveat: severe weather.

Is there a system already brewing in the tropics? đđ
Welcome back, Insiders!
Digital Meteorologist David Nazario here, and weâre RAPIDLY approaching that signature time of the year where tropics are the hot topic!
In fact, some could say itâs already a trending topic across social media. Some of our global computer models have once again started their shenanigans, producing solutions in the near distant future that show a MAJOR hurricane blasting through the Caribbean Sea.
While we are tracking the Caribbean to our south as a potential hot zone for early tropical action, these solutions you see floating around social media are solely there to grab your attention and get your engagement.
This is something weâll be battling for much of the season, unfortunately.
BUT - there is some reality rooted in these model solutions that do try to spin something tropical up as we move towards the end of May and get into the start of the bona fide season. I will be watching the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific for an attempt at developing a tropical system over the coming weeks.

Get Your Garden Ready for Summer! đđż
Hey everyone, Meteorologist Michelle Morgan here!
As temperatures heat up and summer inches closer, now is the perfect time to prep your garden, especially with some rain on the way.
Whether youâre a gardening pro or just getting your hands dirty for the first time, a little early prep can set you up for a flourishing garden when the sun comes out. So, grab your tools, get ready for some rain, and letâs get your garden in shape before the real heat hits.
If youâre thinking about what to grow this summer, nowâs the time to pick your warm-weather crops. Iâve planted tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers, and Iâm also adding some fresh herbs like basil and mint.
If youâre just getting started, cool-weather crops like lettuce, spinach, and peas are perfect for planting right now.
And donât forget about mulchingâit helps keep the soil moist, keeps weeds at bay, and regulates temperature. Itâs an easy, effective way to protect your plants from the heat.
