The LATEST outlook for the 2025 hurricane season
Digital Meteorologist David Nazario here with some interesting tidbits surrounding the pre-season hurricane forecasts youβve probably noticed being slingshot across the internet left and right!
We see them every year and we break them down in-depth for all of you lovely viewers, but what really goes into these seasonal outlooks?
Is it just looking at ocean temperatures? Or maybe strictly based off El NiΓ±o or La NiΓ±a over in the tropical Pacific next door to us. Despite popular belief, thereβs layers upon layers of science and data that are almost literally poured into these forecasts before the hurricane season begins. I also want to promise you, they donβt say the exact same thing year-to-year despite common belief!

β‘ Where are the storms?
So itβs blazing hot, right? Shouldnβt we have some storms to go with that heat? Whatβs up, guys? Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges with you. Someone asked me on Facebook why havenβt we seen the daily storms like we typically do when the big heat rolls around. I thought it was a fantastic question and I figured others may want to know.
There is a definite reason why we havenβt had the cooling thunderstorms in the afternoon. If you would like to know, click here!

In fact, May 2025 will have 11 palindrome dates, but the most exciting part? The streak from May 20 to May 29 β 10 consecutive days where the dates align perfectly, looking the same whether youβre reading them left to right or right to left.

Runway to Hope Spring Soiree
Hi friends! I hope you are having a great week. Itβs meteorologist Julie Broughton, and I wanted to share with you about a beautiful event I attended this weekend, The Runway to Hope Spring Soiree. If youβre unfamiliar with Runway to Hope, itβs a Central Florida nonprofit supporting families fighting pediatric cancer. The organizationβs signature event is the Spring Soiree, where kids battling cancer take to the runway in a fashion show like no other.
This year, I escorted Jenelle as she worked the runway. Jenelle is 7 years old and is battling neuroblastoma. She told me she loves swimming and spreading kindness. She was also very proud to be rocking a kitten heel with her outfit.
This yearβs event raised more than $1 million. That money funds their Family Assistance Fund and supports research and programs at our areaβs three childrenβs hospitals.
