I personally like to avoid crowds, but of course, I’m referencing a song from “The Little Mermaid.”
Hey, I’m News 6 producer Brooke Savage, the writer behind this Setting The Stage newsletter.

🧜♀️ Disney has some new shows! 🏴☠️
Last newsletter, I told you all about the shows at Universal’s newest theme park, Epic Universe, but Disney is also bringing some new performances.
The long-awaited reimagined “Little Mermaid” stage show is now at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” is replacing “Voyage of the Little Mermaid,” which closed down in March 2020.
Now the show features new set pieces, cutting-edge effects and new design. In The Loop: Theme Park Scoops newsletter writer, Haley Coomes, got a first look. I just love seeing the pictures!
Also at Hollywood Studios, a new show from some fan-favorite Disney villains. Taking over the newly reimagined Sunset Showcase theater, “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” is blending humor, drama, and musical numbers. See those impressive details and pictures here.
🎤 “The Uprising Showcase” to feature new, immersive acts this Tuesday
A new entertainment production company wants to show off the talent Central Florida has to offer through a showcase.
Rebel Sky Entertainment is calling its upcoming show, “The Uprising Showcase,” a “full-sensory theatrical experience.”
I heard from the Creative Director and Music Director behind the showcase. See their goals for Central Florida and the lineup of performances I posted in this story.
💃 Did you hear Shakira’s concert at your home earlier this week?
Several people were complaining about the singer’s nearly sold-out concert Wednesday night at Camping World Stadium.
News 6 anchor Justin Warmoth, who lives a few miles away from the stadium, posted on Facebook saying it sounded like she was playing in his driveway!
Saharan Dust may have played a role in the noise being heard miles away from the venue. Digital journalist, Brenda Argueta, posted why and how you may be hearing another concert from your house in just a few days.
