August is shaping up to be a roller coaster month.
Hello, thrill-seekers. It’s Haley.
I have a few roller coaster-related stories for you to scroll through, beginning with an event that doesn’t take place at a theme park.
For the first time, The Red Bull Tandem Roller Coaster is coming to the U.S. and it just so happens to be in Central Florida.
Teams of two navigate a narrow obstacle course over water on custom tandem bicycles.
Just watching footage has me convinced it will be all the more entertaining to watch in person. Adrenaline enthusiasts can submit for a spot now and teams will be announced later this month.
SeaWorld Orlando
Let’s get Kraken 🐙
Kraken is turning 25 this year and SeaWorld Orlando is celebrating the milestone by making it its poster child for National Roller Coaster Day.
The park is once again giving thrill-seekers the ultimate challenge, ride all eight of its roller coasters in a single day. Those who complete the challenge will get a limited-edition Kraken poster, seen above.
SeaWorld is also offering perks for passholders.
Here’s your Howl-O-Scream
In less than a month, SeaWorld Orlando’s annual Halloween event kicks off and this week we got the full line-up of what’s all included.
There are five haunted houses, six scare zones, five themed bars and two live shows.
“The Rave Yard” house has my attention.
Walt Disney World
Have a drink! 🦜
Starting late-August, summon your crew for drinks and light bites at Magic Kingdom’s FIRST official pub.
We have been eagerly awaiting the menu drop for The Beak and Barrel. As expected, there are some appropriately-named swashbuckling sips.
You can start making your ‘reseRRRvations’ next week.
Buzz pause
Come next year, there will be a brand new Buzz to battle alongside with against Zurg.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closed this week for a refurbishment.

Universal Orlando
Short-timer coaster 🤘
The days are numbered to get your last climbs in on Rip Ride Rockit, as the steel coaster is set to close permanently later this month.
Universal has been tight-lipped on the replacement. According to the attraction’s online page, it will be a “new experience” and “more details will be available at a later date.”
Based on the construction already underway and the map released last year, the footprint has expanded, perhaps a launch coaster?
All of the coasters Universal has launched in recent years have been great, so whatever it is has us excited.
August is also shaping up to be an exciting month for attractions in general.
As always, keep me in the loop through my email or reach out to me on X or Instagram.
See you next week.
