Setting The Stage at News 6. (WKMG)

Have you seen any good shows lately? I have some good shows to tell you about!

Hey, I’m News 6 producer Brooke Savage, the writer behind this Setting The Stage newsletter.

Let’s take a look at what’s going on. ⤵

🌧️ “I wrote you every day for a year!”

"The Notebook The Musical" at Dr. Phillips Center (WKMG)

A new hit musical based on the 1996 novel by Nicholas Sparks and the 2004 movie is being brought to life on an Orlando stage.

“The Notebook The Musical” tells the tear-jerking love story of Allie and Noah. They’re both from different worlds, but despite all of life’s challenges to pull them apart, their journeys lead them back to each other.

The show will be inside Walt Disney Theater at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts through Sunday.

I posted ticket information, and I had a chance to chat with Jerome Harmann-Hardeman, who has been with the show since before it went to Broadway. Click here for everything you need to know! Also, be sure to check out Lisa Bell’s review.

And here’s a reminder, “SIX” is the next show in Dr. Phillips Center’s Broadway lineup. That’s June 2-7.

🤩It’s showtime!

Leianna Weaver (Lydia) and Ryan Stajmiger (Beetlejuice). (Matthew Murphy 2026)

Speaking of Broadway, “Beetlejuice” is coming to a few theatres in Central Florida.

Based on Tim Burton’s beloved film, the musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes.

It will be in Daytona Beach at Peabody Auditorium on Tuesday and Wednesday, then it will head to The Sharon in The Villages on Friday and Saturday, and after that, it will be at the King Center in Brevard County on Sunday, May 24.
