The leftovers of what was Tropical Storm Cristina in the Eastern Pacific will merge with a weak disturbance near the Yucatan over the next couple of days.

The ‘blob’ of moisture will then track through the Bay of Campeche and Southwestern Gulf where some tropical development is possible.

The main thing thankfully working against significant development is its time over water.

Still, while significant development is not anticipated flooding will be possible in eastern Mexico and Texas as tropical moisture surges in.

Beyond this entity there are no other areas to watch across the Atlantic basin.

If this does become a tropical storm the first name on the list is Arthur.

No other areas in the Atlantic are showing signs of development.
