Sonic Prep Player of the Week: Alaina Harvey

Harvey plays softball for Edgewater High School

Alaina Harvey is our Sonic Prep Player of the Week. The junior is a team leader on the softball field.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Alaina Harvey is a dominate force on the softball field.

The junior is an elite pitcher and also plays shortstop and third base for Edgewater High School. She plays wherever the coach wants her.

Harvey is a huge threat at the plate and is among the team’s leaders in batting average and home runs. She also has an older brother who plays football at UCF. It’s safe to say athletic excellence runs in her family.

When her high school days are done, Harvey hopes to play collegiately at the University of Georgia where she plans to study criminology. But before any of that, the Edgewater Eagles are hoping to take flight going into the playoffs.

“We expected to win a lot of games,” Harvey said. “The girls come to practice every day, ready. We just want to win. With this group of girls, we’re breaking many records throughout the years, and I think we’re doing very well. The talent is definitely there, and we talk about it almost every practice. We just want to get to the championship.”
