Game-changing court: ASB GlassFloor partners with NBA

Interactive court could be future of the game

ORLANDO, Fla. – Cutting-edge technology is helping the NBA’s best in Central Florida.

An Orlando warehouse is home to an interactive, innovative LED court.

It’s made by German company ASB GlassFloor. The court is the only one of its kind in the United States. LED lights underneath the coated glass surface of the court are controlled by an iPad.

The floor helps players track their shooting, helps coaches diagram plays and helps teams run sets.

The NBA has a minority stake in the product and several of the Orlando Magic’s opponents practiced on and tested the multi-purpose court this season.

Two professional basketball teams in Europe already use ASB GlassFloor as their main courts.

It not only could be the future of NBA playing surfaces, but it can also transform into volleyball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts and more.
