INJURY UPDATE:After undergoing an MRI on Friday night in Dallas, results revealed that guard Jalen Suggs sustained a left knee capsule sprain and bone bruise. Suggs’ return to play will depend on how he responds to treatment. The regular season begins on Oct. 19 for the Magic, when they travel to Michigan to take on the Detroit Pistons.

Markelle Fultz, guard for the Orlando Magic, has fractured the big toe on his left foot while participating in a preseason workout. The timing of the injury means Fultz could miss all of training camp, and possibly the start of the regular season. A broken toe typically takes at least four weeks to heal, and Magic training begins on Sept. 27, with the regular season starting on Oct. 18. He was able to start the 2020-21 season, but played just eight games before going down with a torn ACL. The Sixers ended up trading Fultz to the Magic in Feb. 2019, and in the next season he played 72 games for Orlando, starting 60.

Savarino was charged with DWI , driving after consuming alcohol under the age of 21 and for rolling through a stop sign. Banchero, whose car Savarino was driving, was in the passenger seat and was initially charged with aiding and abetting the DWI. Savarino pleaded guilty to the DWI charge on Wednesday , and his other two charges were dropped.

The Atlanta Hawks are finalizing the hire of Kyle Korver to a front office role, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Korver played in Atlanta from 2012-17, making the All-Star team in 2015.
