UCF football opens Fall camp

Knights leaning on experience & maturity in 2026

ORLANDO, Fla. – There was a revolving door behind center for UCF in 2025. Because of injuries and ineffectiveness, four different quarterbacks played for the Knights last season. Needless to say, head coach Scott Frost is seeking consistency at that position. Enter Alonza Barnett III, a transfer from James Madison University, who is the definitive number one option as fall camp kicked off Monday morning.

UCF is looking to become a contender in the tough Big 12 conference, and stability at quarterback is a must. Barnett shined for JMU in 2025, and possesses the ability to beat defenses with his arm and legs.

Both Barnett and Frost sounded optimistic following the first practice of fall camp.
