Early birds get the wins: Edgewater football preps for preseason clash

ORLANDO, Fla. – Long before the school day begins, their day begins...under the lights...on the gridiron.

The Edgewater High School football team is once again hoping its pre-dawn practices will help lay the foundation for another successful run at an elusive state championship.

I spoke with second-year head coach Patrick Browning and a pair of upperclassmen as they gear up for the 2026 campaign, which kicks off with a signature preseason showdown against fellow powerhouse Armwood Friday, Aug. 14 at home.
