ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando is officially on the road to LA28.
The International Olympic Committee announced the city will host the final stop of the Olympic Q-Series 2028, a key qualification pathway to the LA28 Olympic Games, June 8-11, 2028.
Athletes will compete in some combination of six sports: 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, BMX freestyle, climbing, flag football, and skateboarding. The specific sports featured at the Orlando stop have not yet been confirmed.
“We’re thrilled that Orlando has been selected to host the Olympic Q-Series 2028, putting our city at the center of the road to LA28,” said City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Our community has a proven track record of delivering world-class events and has earned its place as the nation’s premier sports destination.”

Orlando is the fourth and final stop of the series, which opens in Tokyo May 4-7, moves to Shanghai May 11-14 and then Montreal June 1-4 before concluding in Orlando. No word yet on where the events will take place.
“This places Orlando on the road to the LA28 Summer Olympic Games and gives our region the opportunity to help shape an important chapter in the Olympic journey for hundreds of athletes,” said Jason Siegel, President and CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
