SANFORD, Fla. – After losing 4-2 at home versus the Washington Spirit, the Orlando Pride seek a bounce back win Friday night.
The Pride (2-3-2, 12th place) host the North Carolina Courage (2-2-3, 9th place) at Inter&Co Stadium Friday at 8 p.m.
Although the Pride scored four goals in the last two games, they have also allowed seven goals. Looking back at the loss to Washington, head coach Seb Hines called the goals conceded “sloppy.”
“That’s not good,” Hines said after practice Wednesday. “We always feel like we’re going to create chances and opportunities, but the organization needs to be better. The communication needs to be better.”
A win at home for the Pride could give them momentum going into a three-game road trip. Even though it is early in the season, the Pride understand how important each point is with teams so close in the standings.
“[We’re] making change for this North Carolina game and making sure our press is matching their style of play,” forward Simone Jackson said. “We’ve been at it; we’ve been on the drawing board. I think the changes we’re about to make for this upcoming game are going to be effective.”
The Pride launched a “First Match On Us” campaign, allowing first time fans attending a Pride game to get up to two free tickets. Fans can sign up here by filling out this form.
Following the Pride’s next home game Friday, May 29th, against Bay FC, the league will be on a month long break for the men’s FIFA World Cup 2026.
