APOPKA, Fla. – A person is dead after trying to intervene in a fight between two people in the Apopka area.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened in the area of Plymouth Sorrento Road and West Ponkan Road on Tuesday morning. Deputies responded after getting a call about a man and a woman fighting inside a vehicle. Then the vehicle crashed, but the two people got out of the vehicle and kept fighting.
Deputies say a bystander tried to intervene in the fight and was shot. That person was taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The investigation is still going on in the area.
