Should Scott Frost coach UCF Knights in Peach Bowl?

ORLANDO, Fla. – After an undefeated season, the University of Central Florida Knights plan to play a final game with their former coach, Scott Frost, but sports commentators are asking if its right for Frost to coach the Peach Bowl.

UCF coach Scott Frost was hired as Nebraska's coach shortly after UCF won 62-55 in double-overtime to defeat Memphis and capture the American Athletic Conference title on Saturday.

The 12th-ranked UCF Knights will face off against the 7th-ranked Auburn Tigers in Atlanta on Jan. 1.

Frost has said he will coach his team in the bowl game. But on Tuesday after UCF Athletic Director Danny White announced Josh Heupel as the Knight's new head coach, fans and sports commentators began asking if Frost should still be the one to coach the bowl game.

“This is like breaking up with your boyfriend or girlfriend and then going to the prom together,” Orlando Sentinel sports columnist George Diaz wrote Wednesday.

Frost is taking seven UCF assistant coaches with him to his new head-coaching job. The Sentinel also reports that those coaches have already begun recruiting for the Cornhuskers.

Heupel said Tuesday during a news conference that he would watch the Peach Bowl from White’s luxury suite.
