Jack Sparrow look-alike found dead in Florida river

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. – A missing paddle boarder dressed like Capt. Jack Sparrow was found dead in a Florida river Monday morning, according to Coast Guard and Citrus County Sheriff's Office officials.

Joshua Grant Hensley, 43, was last seen Saturday evening by park rangers as he launched his paddleboard at Hunter Springs Park in Crystal River. On Monday, Citrus County Sheriff's Office officials said Hensley's body found was found by marine unit deputies in Kings Bay.

Officials said it's believed that Hensley was taking his paddleboard to Shell Island to watch the sunset. His paddleboard was found by deputies Monday morning in King's Bay near Pete's Pier.

Hensley was wearing brown colonial-style pants and a brown and white jacket, and a brown bandana, sheriff's officials said.

"We offer our deepest condolences to Joshua's family and friends in this difficult time," the Sheriff's Office said. '''Captain Jack' was a beloved figure in the community and will be missed."

Sparrow is a fictional character featured in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie series. The character is portrayed by Johnny Depp.
