Renee Beninate is an award-winning reporter who joined the News4Jax team in June 2021.
Before making her way to Jacksonville, Renee was a reporter for WEAR-TV news in Pensacola. There she covered a variety of stories, from the deadly NAS Pensacola terrorist attack to several hurricanes that devastated the Gulf Coast. Renee’s coverage of Hurricane Sally in 2020 was recognized by the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists.
Prior to her time in the Panhandle, she spent two years in the Bayou reporting in Northeast Louisiana. However, Renee has always called Florida home and is extremely excited to be in Jacksonville.
Renee also has experience in the print side of the business. Before getting involved in broadcast news, she worked as a correspondent/newsroom intern at The Gainesville Sun. She graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a B.S. in telecommunications-news.
In her spare time, this Fort Lauderdale native enjoys working out, going to the beach and hanging out with her two rescue cats.
If you have any story ideas or tips, feel free to send them her way!
