Mako is a hypercoaster, a type of coaster known for high speeds, steep drops and hills that create a feeling of weightlessness or "air time."

SeaWorld says the thrilling ride will be the centerpiece of a two-acre, shark-themed realm in the park.

Guests visiting SeaWorld Orlando can continue to watch the rise of the steel track over the next few months as construction continues.
