SeaWorld installs tallest point of new 'Mako' coaster
New ride opens this summer
ORLANDO, Fla. – The track for SeaWorld's new coaster, "Mako, which is under construction and opens this summer, reached its highest point Wednesday, the park said.
The 200-foot hill will make Mako the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in Orlando, reaching speeds of 73 mph along 4,760 feet of track.
Mako is a hypercoaster, a type of coaster known for high speeds, steep drops and hills that create a feeling of weightlessness or "air time."
SeaWorld says the thrilling ride will be the centerpiece of a two-acre, shark-themed realm in the park.
Guests visiting SeaWorld Orlando can continue to watch the rise of the steel track over the next few months as construction continues.
