LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Who is the most misunderstood Disney Villain of them all? What you see is what you get.
Starting Tuesday, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, and Captain Hook will invite guests to their wicked realm at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Taking over the newly reimagined Sunset Showcase theater, “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” will blend humor, drama, and musical numbers.
Developing a story that starred familiar foes presented a fun challenge for the creative team.
“As soon as you say ‘villain show’ everyone’s like, ‘Yes, let’s do it!’ and then you go, ‘Well, what are they gonna do?’, said Matt Fiuza, Senior Art Director at Disney Live Entertainment. ”This competitive thing about this competition between them. It’s not even between them because they don’t know each other, right? It’s just being the most of something, being the, you know, most misunderstood. That just floated naturally up to the top as everyone was developing this show, and also, this idea that we wanted to create a classic, we wanted to create something that’s timeless, that we live on."

The 18-minute show will be hosted by the infamous Magic Mirror and features an original song called “Magic Mirror on the Wall”.
In a unique twist, the show allows for guests to participate in a dramatic finale where they can influence the show’s outcome.
“Unfairly Ever After” isn’t the only show debuting on May 27. “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure" replaces the previously closed “Voyage of the Little Mermaid.” The reimagined show will feature digital puppetry and new-to-the-show songs.
