LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – New details have emerged about what will fill the reimagined Magic of Disney Animation at Disney Hollywood Studios, as Disney converts the former Star Wars: Launch Bay and Animation Courtyard into a playful take on the Walt Disney Studios lot.
Opening late summer 2026, guests can expect character encounters, studio-themed departments, and hands-on drawing sessions aimed at families and fans.

Off the Page! opens as a storyboard-to-screen playground where families can meet characters and peek behind the scenes of animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Each room represents a different studio department, offering photo opportunities that celebrate the craft behind every frame.
Learn to draw with Olaf!
Olaf Draws! invites guests to a reimagined animator’s studio where an Audio-Animatronic Olaf leads sketch sessions with prerecorded guidance from Disney artists.
Together, the two will guide guests step-by-step through the creative process, sharing tips, techniques, and stories straight from the studio as you learn how beloved Disney Animation characters come to life.
Each class features a different character, inspired by timeless classics and modern favorites.
Characters up for drawing include:
- Mickey Mouse, with Dan Abraham, director (Once Upon A Studio, Baymax!)
- Minnie Mouse, with Hyun Min Lee, animator (Frozen 2, The Princess and the Frog)
- Donald Duck, with Austin Traylor, animator (Once Upon A Studio, Moana 2)
- Genie, with Eric Goldberg, animator (Aladdin, Hercules)
- Moana, with Samantha Vilfort, story artist (Encanto, Zootopia 2)
- Stitch, with Fawn Veerasunthorn, director and head of story (Wish, Raya and the Last Dragon)
- Olaf, with Trent Correy, director (Once Upon A Studio, Frozen 3)
- Ursula, with Michael Woodside, animator (Big Hero 6, Encanto)
- Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde, with Byron Howard director, (Zootopia, Zootopia 2)
The Olad Draws! announcement comes amid the closure Animation Experience at Conservation Station. The instructor-led class at Rafiki’s Planet Watch allowed guests to sketch Disney characters.
Other experiences featured in The Magic of Disney Animation include a “Drawn to Wonderland” playground and an enchanted art gallery.
