Monday is the deadline for players with remaining NCAA eligibility to announce they wish to make themselves available for spring’s NFL Draft. Almost every highly rated player has declared for the draft at this point … except one notable exception, Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, who is a contender not just to be a first round selection, but the first pick overall. Stroud – or someone like him in the future – might actually stay and develop due to the more advantageous financial situation. It’s not unusual in baseball and hockey, where college players can be drafted by pro teams yet still play under NCAA rules.

Call it luck, skill or a combination of both, but the Minnesota Vikings have been a historically great team in close games this season. Say what you want about how it happened, but Minnesota knows how to win games. Five other teams won at least nine one-possession games (meaning eight points or fewer) since 2010. Two lost in the divisional round, while the other two were ousted in the wild-card game. 2012 Indianapolis ColtsAndrew Luck led the Colts to an 11-5 record and a postseason berth in his first NFL season thanks to a veteran-laden team and a weak AFC.

Unlike Warner, he wasn't going to get ahead of himself and talk about anything but the Super Bowl title in front of him.

Tom Moore worked with Manning, Terry Bradshaw and many others before the 82-year-old assistant got a chance to coach Brady. Christensen and Moore were on the opposite sideline against Brady during the Colts-Patriots rivalry. Both have a different view of the six-time Super Bowl champion after getting to know him during his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 29-year-old quarterback took out a full-page ad in the Indianapolis Star's Sunday paper to thank fans for their support after he announced he'd quit the game last week. Luck, a first pick in the 2012 draft and four-time Pro Bowl QB, said the "unceasing" pain forced him out of the game. News of his retirement spread last week while he sat on the sidelines of a preseason game against the Chicago Bears. Brissett filled in for Luck during the 2017 season while he was out recovering from shoulder surgery.
