wftv.comChargers RB Austin Ekeler reportedly asks for trade amid contract extension talks
Los Angeles Chargers Austin Ekeler reportedly wants a new contract or a new team, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Ekeler's agent, Cameron Weiss told Schefter that Ekeler requested permission to speak to other teams after contract extension negotiations with the Chargers stalled. Ekeler, 27, signed a four-year, $24.5 million deal in 2020 and will enter the final year of that contract with only. He's scored 38 combined touchdowns in each of the past two seasons — which leads the NFL among skill position players. He finished the past two seasons with at least 900 rushing yards and at least 12 rushing touchdowns.

wftv.comFantasy power ranking the 12 eliminated NFL playoff teams: Who comes out on top?
I thought it might be a good time for a post-mortem on the playoff teams who were recently eliminated and rank those teams by expected fantasy juice for the 2023 season. Again, only playoff teams (other than the Chiefs and Eagles) are ranked here. New York GiantsThe team doesn't have a choice in Daniel Jones — he has to come back. The wide receiver room desperately needs a coat of paint, even if we assume Rashod Bateman pops in Year 3. Kenneth Walker's receiving efficiency was ordinary, but at least he wasn't a zero in the passing game — the team doesn't view him as merely a two-down grinder.
wftv.comWild-Card Weekend Stats Notebook: Will Brock Purdy stumble in NFL playoffs?
He was the most productive player in the passing game against Tennessee to lift Jacksonville into the playoffs and finished as a top-12 fantasy receiver. There have been times over the last three years when the Bills run defense has been leaky; not so much this year. In theory, the Dolphins passing game should be quarterback-proof with how well it's schemed up and the players in the receiver room. So the run game will need to step up and answer the call here with Skylar Thompson under center again. Unfortunately, the Ravens have gone 2-2 and have averaged 12.3 points per game in that span thanks to the state of their passing game.

With back-to-back outstanding seasons, Burrow is now a permanent fixture in the top tier of fantasy QB options. But his 107 catches were 22 more than any other RB, and he led the NFL with 18 total touchdowns. And Jacobs started the season as expected, producing zero touchdowns and 251 total yards in his initial three games. But his season took a dramatic turn against Denver in Week 4 (175 total yards, two TDs), and he averaged more than 100 total yards per game the rest of the way.

wftv.comChargers reach playoffs, beat Foles, overmatched Colts 20-3
INDIANAPOLIS — (AP) — Austin Ekeler scored on two 1-yard runs and the Los Angeles Chargers clinched their first playoff berth since 2018, intercepting Indianapolis quarterback Nick Foles three times to beat the overmatched Colts 20-3 on Monday night. When all four lost, the Chargers just needed a win to reach the postseason for the first time with Herbert and just the second time since 2014. Foles, making his first start for the Colts, squandered two first-quarter scoring chances by throwing picks. Keenan Allen caught 11 passes for 104 yards and has topped the 100-yard mark in six straight road games. The hit sent Colts receiver Ashton Dulin to the locker room, and Dulin was eventually ruled out with a concussion.

The 2023 NFL Pro Bowl rosters are here, and a couple of very big names didn't make the cut. Before we get into that, it should be noted that this year's Pro Bowl will be very different from the previous ones. Ekeler finished with around half as many rushing yards as all three but only slightly fewer rushing touchdowns. Barkley makes sense – he's right behind McCaffrey in scrimmage yards and more than 200 yards ahead in rushing yards – but McCaffrey only has 42 fewer rushing yards than Pollard and 313 more receiving yards. Sanders is having a career year on the ground and is fifth in rushing touchdowns and rushing yards.

wftv.comHerbert, short-handed defense lead Chargers past Fins 23-17
INGLEWOOD, Calif. — (AP) — Justin Herbert threw for 367 yards and a touchdown and a short-handed Chargers defense got the best of the Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa as Los Angeles beat Miami 23-17 on Sunday night. The Chargers (7-6) moved into position for the final AFC playoff berth, ahead of the New York Jets. The Chargers held Miami to 219 yards despite not having safety Derwin James, cornerback Bryce Callahan and defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day because of injuries. Cameron Dicker kicked three field goals, including one from 29-yards that gave the Chargers a 23-14 advantage with 2:40 remaining. On second-and-4 from the Miami 41, Wilson fumbled while tackled by Chargers safety Alohi Gilman during a 6-yard gain.
wftv.comDolphins, Tua Tagovailoa have an awful night in loss to Chargers, who needed the win
The Dolphins followed up a rough loss against the San Francisco 49ers last week with another horrible game against the Los Angeles Chargers. For those who were using Sunday night to judge Tagovailoa against the player selected right after him in the 2020 draft, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, Sunday night was a 10-8 round for Herbert. The Dolphins played a miserable half and ended it appropriately, with a terrible coaching decision that handed the Chargers a touchdown. Chargers grind out the winThe rest of the win for the Chargers was a slow death for the Dolphins. The Hill play didn't spark anything for the Dolphins offense.

wftv.comFantasy Football Fact or Fluke: Regression came for these players in Week 9 — but what should we expect going forward?
In football, we tend to think about touchdown regression. We heard a lot about regression during Week 9’s games. Going forward, Mixon should reasonably be expected to average just under one total touchdown per game given his current volume. He has four single-digit fantasy point games, three with over 20 fantasy points and one 10-point game. But until we get ourselves a fantasy point per air yards league, Davis is going to be boom or bust.
wftv.comFalcons fumble on wild sequence sets up Chargers K Cameron Dicker for his 2nd game-winner with 2 different teams
The Los Angeles Chargers and Atlanta Falcons are notorious for finding wildly creative ways to lose games. The Chargers eventually prevailed, 20-17 after a wild sequence featuring two fumbles that set up kicker Cameron Dicker for his second game-winning field goal of the season — for his second team. The Chargers were set up for a considerably less chaotic win while facing third-and-4 with 46 seconds remaining. Falcons defensive end Ta'Quon Graham scooped up the loose ball then rumbled 19 yards in an effort to set Atlanta up for its own potential game-winner. The gain ultimately set Dicker up for a 37-yard field-goal attempt to win the the game.

wftv.comDaily Fantasy Football Week 9: Lineup building blocks and undervalued options to target
He’s averaging the most fantasy points among all backs in 0.5 PPR leagues this season despite reaching 15 carries in just one game (when he saw 16 rush attempts). Either way, Taylor is in a tough spot Sunday on the road against a New England defense allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs this year. This week the Packers get a much different Lions defense yielding 5.1 YPC, 13 rushing touchdowns and the third-most fantasy points to running backs this season. Moore led the league in air yards last week and leads the NFL in air yardage share over the last month. He remains affordable in DFS this week facing a Bengals secondary dealing with multiple injuries, so Moore is undervalued.

Welcome to the latest edition of the Fantasy Football Flashback, where we celebrate the accomplishments of the week's most reliable players. Jacobs is locked into one of the heaviest workloads of any rusher, and those who gambled on drafting him when his stock was down in August are holding a top-5 fantasy RB for the remainder of the campaign. The 27-year-old’s rare combination of receiving and goal line skills make him a top-5 fantasy RB for the duration of 2022. But those who grabbed the 34-year-old as a bye-week replacement or superflex option were ecstatic by his final stat line, which included 361 passing yards and four touchdowns. The Duke alum has mostly been a game manager (175 passing yards per game) but has remained a fantasy factor by averaging 49 rushing yards per contest.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Los Angeles ChargersJustin Herbert was clearly compromised while playing through torn rib cartilage, but this Jacksonville team is fully legit. Receptions have saved Ekeler's fantasy start in PPR leagues, but he's yet to score a touchdown after hitting pay dirt 20 times last season. wftv.comNFL teams on Thanksgiving schedule all coming off loss
Maybe the NFL teams set to play on Thanksgiving got caught looking ahead to the holiday extravaganza. All six squads playing on Thursday lost in their lead-up to the Thanksgiving game, marking the first time since 2001 that every team playing on the holiday dropped its previous contest. Back then there were only two Thanksgiving games, with Detroit hosting Green Bay and Dallas hosting Denver. The final two games on Thanksgiving are part of a record nine this week between teams that don't have a losing record, the most in NFL history in Week 12 or later. The Cardinals have won all six road games this season, with each victory coming by at least 10 points.
