Residents in Palm Coast are voicing their concerns about a proposed fuel terminal that could be built in their community.

Belvedere Terminals is proposing a $75 million fuel storage facility for Palm Coast, situated off Peavey Grade and U.S. 1, near one of the city’s wastewater treatment plants.

Volusia County could get $10 million from the state budget to help entice a company to move its proposed fuel terminal in Ormond Beach.

Belvedere Terminals filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, claiming that the county tried “to rob Belvedere of its Property and constitutionally protected rights.”

For months, residents have been fighting Belvedere Terminals over the company's efforts at building a fuel terminal in Ormond Beach.

The proposed site off US-1 and Hull Road would potentially store several million gallons of fuel.
