The magazine revealed the cover Wednesday of the annual issue, which hits newsstands Friday. Teigen, who is of Thai-Norwegian descent, said she wants to follow her Thai tradition in remembering her son, Jack, who died at 20 weeks of her pregnancy. As Teigen grew older, she saw more racism occur during her modeling career. She wrote in a final series of posts that criticism she'd endured on the site had left her “deeply bruised.”

Chrissy Teigen delivers heartfelt essay on miscarriage

LOS ANGELES – Chrissy Teigen wrote a heartfelt message about the recent loss of her third child with husband John Legend. Teigen delivered the essay in a Medium post Tuesday. In Tuesday’s post, Teigen wrote that her doctors diagnosed her with a partial placental abruption. Teigen said her decision to take and post photos of the process was met with some support and criticism. She said Legend was “very hesitant” to take the photos, but she felt the need to share their story.

Chrissy Teigen said she and John Legend are in “deep pain” following her miscarriage, which she announced in a heart wrenching social media post. Teigen wrote that they were "driving home from the hospital with no baby. “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.
