Vikings defense falters again to force quick postseason exit
The Minnesota Vikings faced plenty of questions about their legitimacy as a contender in the NFC, the rare 13-win team with a negative point differential during the regular season. The source of the doubt could be clearly traced back to a defense that finished second-to-last in the league in yards allowed, and their 31-24 wild card round loss to the New York Giants on Sunday was the final and most painful piece of evidence why. Playoff newbie Daniel Jones passed for 301 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 78 yards to lead an unflappable performance by a Giants team that was nowhere near the NFL's most productive offenses in 2022.

Let’s be honest about sleeper picks, they often make more sense in the middle of a fantasy season. Hopefully, most of your fantasy teams rolled into the playoffs, and you’re set with a lineup that essentially plays itself. Perhaps these sleeper calls will make more sense as DFS options, or encourage you to make a daily fantasy play. Giants' passing game at MinnesotaMinnesota is cruising to the NFC North title, but it's been no thanks to the pass defense. And at least the Tampa Bay at Arizona game is weather-proof, one of the save havens for Week 16.
wftv.comCowboys find rhythm to beat Giants on Thanksgiving, gain ground in NFC East
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys played with their food to begin a Thanksgiving contest against the New York Giants before ultimately reaching a rhythm and piling on. At meal’s end, the Cowboys had a 28-20 victory over their NFC East rival that wasn’t as close as a last-minute Giants touchdown made it seem. At 8-3, the Cowboys have a firm grasp on second place in the division, sweeping the Giants in this season’s series. Tight end Dalton Schultz scored his first of two touchdowns on a 15-yard dart from Prescott. Schultz, rookie Jake Ferguson and tight end Sean McKeon jumped into the Kettle, as Cowboys including Elliott had in the past.

wftv.comHopkins converts 2nd chance, Washington beats Giants 30-29
Giants Washington Football New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (86) makes a touchdown catch against Washington Football Team cornerback William Jackson (23) during the second half of an NFL football game, Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, in Landover, Md. — (AP) — Dustin Hopkins made a 43-yard field goal on an untimed down — after a penalty negated his miss seconds earlier — and Washington beat the New York Giants 30-29 on Thursday night. He cost Washington dearly with a late interception, but after Graham Gano's fifth field goal of the game gave the Giants a 29-27 lead with 2:00 remaining, Heinicke guided Washington back into field goal range. Washington's defense forced a field goal, giving Heinicke another chance. That play was shortened by a holding penalty, however, and the Giants settled for a field goal.
wftv.comSeattle stunner: Giants stymie Wilson, Seahawks in 17-12 win
New York Giants defensive end Leonard Williams (99) celebrates with linebacker Tae Crowder (48) after Williams sacked Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (not shown) during the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, in Seattle. A fourth-and-18 desperation throw by Wilson was batted down, and the Giants were left to celebrate. “I’m really surprised that this is how we looked against this game plan that they had,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. SEATTLE’S WEIRD SCORESNot surprisingly, Seattle was involved in a game that had a strange score at some point. The 5-0 halftime score was the first in an NFL game since Week 2 of the 2013 season when the Seahawks led the 49ers 5-0 at the half.
Healthy WR Golden Tate won't play for Giants at Washington
WASHINGTON – New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate won’t play Sunday at Washington in the aftermath of seemingly calling out quarterback Daniel Jones and the coaching staff. Tate did not travel Saturday with the Giants for the game. “He’s made a lot of plays over these last couple of years, and I certainly have a lot of trust in him as a player,” Jones said. Tate has been targeted 29 times this season, making 22 catches for 226 yards and two touchdowns in seven games. Washington on Saturday activated receiver Steven Sims off injured reserve, a big boost to its passing game.
Despite 1 win each, Eagles, Giants have first place in sight
Philadelphia Eagles' Carson Wentz (11) is tackled by Baltimore Ravens' Jihad Ward (53) during the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, in Philadelphia. (AP Photo/Derik Hamilton)PHILADELPHIA – It’s Week 7, the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants each have one win and both teams are right in the mix for first place. The victory total will increase after the Eagles (1-4-1) and Giants (1-5) meet Thursday night, unless they tie. The Giants are coming off their first win under coach Joe Judge. But Elliott has hit all of his field goals under 50 yards this season and 89.9% in his career.
Giants and Judge finally win, beat Washington on fumble TD
In fact, the 38-year-old Judge barely had time to celebrate as the Giants rode a wild final four minutes, a decisive play by Mr. Irrelevant — scooped up a fumble and ran 43 yards for a touchdown to give New York a 20-13. Washington coach Ron Rivera rolled the dice and went for the win with a 2—point conversion. The only way to learn to win is to play to win. That’s what I want those guys to understand.”The stop allowed the Giants to avoid a second 0-6 start since 2013.

Defense, Snell, Big Ben carry Pittsburgh over Giants 26-16
Roethlisberger, who missed the final 14 games last season after elbow surgery, threw for three scores in a 26-16 win over the New York Giants at an empty and eerie MetLife Stadium on Monday night. The defense, while not quite on the level of the famed Steel Curtain, was plenty stingy and physical. It not only held Saquon Barkley to 6 yards on 15 carries, it also swarmed him in the backfield nearly all night. Even though the Pittsburgh defense broke down as the Giants marched 87 yards on 19 plays in just under nine minutes in the third quarter, it still came up with a major stop. Roethlisberger then took Pittsburgh 62 yards for the field goal and a 19-10 lead.
