DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — With big events like the Rolex 24 and Daytona 500 now just weeks away, Daytona Beach businesses are hoping for a boost.
At the Cracked Egg diner, business is steady, but like most businesses, they could use a few more customers.

Kevin Harvick will know if 2023 is final season by Daytona
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — (AP) — Kevin Harvick will know if 2023 will be his last as a fulltime NASCAR driver before the season-opening Daytona 500 in February. Harvick won his lone Cup title in his first season with the team. He spent the first 13 years of his Cup career with Richard Childress Racing, and next season will be his 10th with SHR. Harvick, who turns 47 next week, has 60 career Cup wins that include the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600, Brickyard 400 and Southern 500. He has 47 career Xfinity Series wins and 14 victories in the Truck Series.

Johnson told The Associated Press that his first race will be the season-opening Daytona 500, where he's a two-time winner. It took about six weeks for Johnson to get back into NASCAR through conversations initiated by the management firm shared by Johnson and Erik Jones, the Petty GMS driver he just inherited. Johnson said he had no talks with Hendrick Motorsports about ownership opportunities as the GMS deal came together out of the blue. “Jimmie is just a tremendous guy and in my older age, I value relationships as much as anything,” Gallagher told the AP.

Baker said the 500 is the best free advertising and could help get visitors back in Volusia even in a pandemic.
