VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — More than 50 deputies are searching Deltona High School after deputies said they received a 911 call reporting that gunshots were heard on campus. Deputies are reporting that the call was a “false alarm.”Deputies said they have not found any evidence of gunshots being fired. Deputies said the entire campus is being checked by more than 50 deputies, and an increased deputy presence will continue Tuesday and throughout the week. Deltona student arrested for threat to shoot up school
A couple of days before school started in Volusia County, deputies arrested a Deltona High School student for making a school threat, reports show. [READ MORE: Volusia deputies arrest 30th student accused of making school threat]On Saturday, at 12:17 p.m. Volusia deputies were alerted by a School Resource Deputy of a social media post threatening harm to Deltona High School. The Instagram posts had a photograph of Deltona High School with the caption, "Gotta turn myself in August 13. Deputies made contact with Colon's grandparents about the incident and arrested the student, deputies said. It was not immediately clear if the second student was arrested.
