As Sean McVay mulls future, Rams offensive coordinator Liam Coen leaves for Kentucky
If Sean McVay returns as the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams next season, he’ll have a new offensive coordinator. Liam Coen, McVay’s OC in Los Angeles, was announced Tuesday as the new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Kentucky. Coen coached the Wildcats’ offense in 2021 following a three-year run as an assistant for McVay with the Rams. Ahead of the 2022 season, McVay brought Coen back to the Rams, this time as offensive coordinator. After the regular season, UK head coach Mark Stoops fired offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello, opening the door for Coen’s return.

Leary suffered a broken fibula just four games into the 2020 season and suffered a torn pectoral muscle six games into the 2022 season. After Leary suffered the injury in October, the school said that he didn’t suffer any damage to his throwing shoulder. At Kentucky, Leary takes the helm of an offense that scored just 22 points per game in 2022. Brown emerged as one of the most dynamic threats in the SEC over the 2022 season as a kick returner and wide receiver.

State, playing in its first-ever Top 10 matchup, couldn't overcome. The Tigers also picked off Leary and recovered a fumble when N.C. State went for it on 4th-and-13 down 10 with less than nine minutes left. Clemson and N.C. State came in with two of the highest-scoring offenses in the ACC and figured to trade trips to the end zone throughout. NC State now has to cross its fingers that the Tigers lose twice in their final five ACC games.

With the win, Clemson improved to 5-0 and is alone atop the division standings with a 3-0 record in ACC play. NC State opened the second half with the ball, but Clemson registered sacks of Wolfpack quarterback Devin Leary on two of the first three plays of the third quarter. And most of all, he avoided turnovers and kept the chains moving against a really good NC State defense. With NC State’s run game completely stifled, Leary was forced to go to the air early and often without much success.

Williams, Carter lead No. 14 UNC past No. 23 NC State 48-21
