wftv.comFormer Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew called his team's wild 27-point comeback
It was the Chargers, the team synonymous with mortifying NFL collapses (on the AFC side, at least). The danger became more obvious when the Jaguars opened the second half with a touchdown to cut the deficit to 27-14. That man was former Jaguars All-Pro running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who called his shot during the halftime show on NFL Network:Jones-Drew's prediction:"It's halftime. The most Chargers thing to do is allow the Jags back in the game in the second half game and they win on a last-second field goal." His belief in a comeback that still doesn't feel quite real shows he is very much still a Jaguar at heart.

wftv.comRecord 5 1st-year coaches lead teams into postseason
Bowles struggled a bit more as Tampa Bay won just eight games to become the fourth division winner in NFL history with a losing record. Two of those three matchups ended in splits in the regular season with the Ravens and Bengals, and Dolphins and Bills splitting their two games. San Francisco is the 13th team in the Super Bowl era to end the regular season on a winning streak of at least 10 games. wftv.comLawrence, Jaguars continue playoff push, outclass Jets 19-3
While Lawrence sliced through the Jets' normally strong defense, Wilson couldn't get anything going and was booed frequently — all the way to the bench. Wilson went 9 of 18 for 82 yards with an interception and a dismal 41.9 rating for the Jets (7-8), whose playoff hopes took a devastating hit with their fourth straight loss. Things actually got off to a promising start for the Jets when Quinnen Williams strip-sacked Lawrence on the Jaguars' third play from scrimmage. On fourth-and-4, Streveler completed a 4-yard pass to Garrett Wilson and he led the Jets to the Jaguars 13. Instead, Lawrence — who lost 26-21 to Wilson and the Jets last season — and the Jaguars maintained control.

wftv.comTrevor Lawrence isn't winning yet, but at least he's losing a little better
In his second year, now underway, Trevor Lawrence probably won’t do any of that. Lawrence and Mahomes met in Kansas City Sunday, a mostly routine 27-17 Kansas City victory. Prior to Sunday, the Jaguars’ running game ranked seventh in the NFL with 146.8 rushing yards per game … but the passing game ranked 22nd with 230.6 yards per game. Sunday, Jacksonville caught Kansas City napping with an onside kick to start the game, but then stalled out 15 yards later. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — (AP) — Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel offered handshakes and high-fives to his players as they exited Nissan Stadium following a victory two weeks ago. He’s one of 10 current head coaches with NFL playing experience, some with considerably more than others. Although there’s a rich tradition of NFL players becoming successful NFL coaches — Mike Ditka, Jim Harbaugh, Marty Schottenheimer, Don Shula and Dan Reeves, to name a few — there seems to be no direct correlation between the two. Campbell and Pederson built their staffs almost exclusively with former NFL players. Pederson’s staff includes longtime NFL players Brentson Buckner, Mike Caldwell, Bernie Parmalee and Deshea Townsend.
