Jerome Ford rushed for a career-high 189 yards and four touchdowns to help No. 3 Cincinnati roll past UCF 56-21.

No. 3 Cincinnati will try to show it belongs among the nation's elite teams.

The University of Central Florida defeated Boise State University in its home opener and now the team is looking for the second win of the season at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday against Bethune-Cookman.

Isaiah Bowser rushed 172 yards including the the go-ahead touchdown with 4:16 remaining and UCF rallied to beat Boise State 36-31 in a game that began almost three hours late because of lightning-caused delays.

Dillon Gabriel threw a pair of touchdown passes to Marlon Williams and Central Florida rolled to a 38-13 victory over Temple on Saturday night. Gabriel was 12 of 22 for 268 yards passing without an interception. Greg McCrae had touchdown runs of 7 and 1 yard, and Otis Anderson had a 14-yard scoring run in the first quarter. Tayvon Ruley ran 23 times for 90 yards for Temple (1-5, 1-5). Onasis Neely had a 5-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter.

Gabriel threw for 408 yards and four touchdowns to help UCF beat East Carolina 51-28 on Saturday, winning its American Athletic Conference opener for the fifth straight season in a game marked by the Knights' offensive brilliance and its early trouble with pre-snap penalties. “You never play a perfect game but we came out (and) we put 51 points up,” Gabriel said. UCF (2-0, 1-0) rolled to 632 total yards after amassing 660 in its opener, getting huge performances from receivers Jaylon Robinson and Marlon Williams. But there were also 19 penalties for 139 yards, 10 coming in the opening quarter with seven of those false-start flags. Going back to last week's Georgia Tech win, UCF has committed 14 false-start penalties this season.
