That was certainly the case for Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14. Herbert now gets a chance to go up against a Tennessee Titans defense that just surrendered 36 points to the Jaguars, including four total touchdowns and 368 passing yards to Trevor Lawrence. wftv.comFantasy Football Six-Pack: Tyler Huntley could have juice in must-win Week 14
56.8 - Last year, in the five games in which Tyler Huntley played over 80 percent of his team's offensive snaps, he averaged 56.8 rushing yards and 208.4 passing yards per week. So if you grabbed Huntley off the wire, it's not unreasonable to hope for a useful fantasy week. 42 - This is Alvin Kamara's highest single-game rushing total over the Saints last five games, and it happened back in Week 11. Personally, my favorite thing about fantasy in Week 14 is that Kamara isn't involved in it because New Orleans is on bye. 17.26 - In games started by a quarterback who isn't Zach Wilson, we are getting 17.26 fantasy points per week from Garrett Wilson.
wftv.comFantasy Football Six Pack: Is George Pickens the NFL's next potential superstar WR?
He gets Atlanta this week, a defense that's allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers and the second-most receiving yards to the position. 60 - David Montgomery delivered a good-not-great performance for fantasy purposes last Sunday, carrying 14 times for 79 yards and catching three balls for 34. But he produced a few exceptional highlights along the way and gained 60 of his 79 rushing yards after contact. This week, he's at home facing an absolutely dreadful Packers run defense; Green Bay ranks next-to-last in rushing yards allowed (154.8 YPG) and they give up 5.0 yards per carry. Hockenson has been targeted 34 times in his four games for Minnesota and he's had at least five receptions every week.
wftv.comKeenan Allen deletes tweet criticizing Brandon Staley; Chargers coach says it brings them 'closer'
Keenan Allen was displeased with his head coach on Sunday on a very public forum. "I was made aware of that after the game," Staley told reporters at his Monday news conference. The thing that I will say is that Keenan Allen is a captain for us, and he and I, since I've become the head coach, have become extremely close. Cause man man man — Keenan Allen (@Keenan13Allen) October 9, 2022The failed conversion consisted of a Justin Herbert pass to Mike Williams that was broken up. "There's no one that I have more respect for than Keenan Allen," Staley said.
wftv.comKeenan Allen, Myles Garrett both disapproved of Brandon Staley's late 4th-down gamble: 'WTF are we doing'
To the surprise of few, Los Angeles Chargers coach Brandon Staley rolled the dice on fourth down on Sunday. But the decision didn't set will with multiple players, including Pro Bowl Chargers receiver Keenan Allen. It's not clear if he disapproved of the decision to go for it, the play call or both. — Keenan Allen (@Keenan13Allen) October 9, 2022Fortunately for the Chargers, the Browns didn't make them pay for coming up short. Here's the 4th down decision chart from @bburkeESPN on Brandon Staley's decision at end of game.
wftv.comChargers place pass rusher Joey Bosa on injured reserve, but he could return this season
The injury bug hit the Los Angeles Chargers once again. The team placed four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Joey Bosa on injured reserve with a groin injury, head coach Brandon Staley announced Wednesday afternoon. It's another big blow for Los Angeles, who lost left tackle Rashawn Slater for the season with a ruptured bicep just two days go. He'll be out for a maximum of four weeks until the Chargers have to make a decision to re-activate Bosa or keep him on injured reserve for the rest of the season. But now, Los Angeles will have to do it without Bosa for some time.
wftv.comChargers reeling after Slater, Bosa suffer major injuries
Jacksonville's 38-10 rout on Sunday not only was the Chargers' second straight defeat, but the injury list grew longer as the game wore on. Not only does quarterback Justin Herbert's rib injury remain a concern, but offensive tackle Rashawn Slater will likely miss the rest of the season due to a torn left biceps. The injuries come at the worst possible time for Los Angeles, which was already missing center Corey Linsley because of a knee issue, wide receiver Keenan Allen (hamstring) and cornerback J.C. Jackson (ankle).
news.yahoo.comChargers look sluggish as Jaguars roll, can't blame loss on Justin Herbert's injury
For a moment on Sunday, the Chargers looked ready to rally behind their injured Pro Bowl quarterback. Pro Bowl left tackle Rashawn Slater left with a biceps injury two plays later. At a glance, it was a stunning result for a Chargers team armed with Super Bowl hopes and playing at home against a Jaguars team that finished 2021 with the NFL's worst record. They started Sunday without Pro Bowl receiver Keenan Allen and cornerback J.C. Jackson, who were both sidelined with injuries. Before Slater left the game, Pro Bowl pass rusher was ruled out with a groin injury suffered in the first half.
wftv.comChargers lose pass rusher Joey Bosa, LT Rashawn Slater to injury
The Los Angeles Chargers quarterback started Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars as a game-time decision after tearing rib cartilage in Week 2. Left tackle Rashawn Slater left the game in the third quarter with a biceps injury and was listed as questionable to return. The Chargers also lost All-Pro pass rusher Joey Bosa, who exited in the first with a groin injury and was ruled out after halftime. Add them to a list of key injures for the Chargers, who started Sunday with No. 1 receiver Keenan Allen and Pro Bowl cornerback J.C. Jackson also sidelined.
wftv.comNFL injury report: Justin Herbert to be game-time decision after missed practice, while Chris Godwin is ruled out
Herbert, who is said to be day-to-day with a "rib cartilage fracture," was ruled questionable after being limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, then not participating on Friday. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially ruled out the Pro Bowl wide receiver after a week in which he posted no official participation in practice. Wide receiver Julio Jones is also questionable after returning to practice on Friday in a limited fashion. Dobbins, who missed all of last season with a torn ACL, is listed as questionable with a knee injury. Speaking of persistent Ravens injuries, left tackle Ronnie Stanley is listed as doubtful to make his season debut with a knee injury.
wftv.comMike Williams steps up big for Chargers, makes a ridiculous TD catch vs. Chiefs
Williams was in a big spot for Thursday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Allen and Williams are a 1a and 1b in the Chargers' passing game, but Allen is usually the more reliable stat compiler from week to week. On Thursday night, Williams was fantastic, and had a breathtaking touchdown. They signed him to a three-year, $60 million extension before he hit free agency this past offseason. On Thursday night, Williams was worth that deal.
wftv.comFantasy Football 2022: Chargers vs. Chiefs sit/start tips for Week 2 Thursday night football
What a way to cap Week 1 of the fantasy football season. So, you’d think the Chargers would be equally effective on the ground to keep their offense moving. Mahomes' deep-ball rate has steadily declined as he's seen more two-high coverages, but he'll still swing for the fences when given the chance. But his usage caught my eye as the Chiefs will need to use all their weapons to pull off a win tonight. Pacheco’s first touch didn’t come until the Chiefs’ third drive as the last man in the rotation.
wftv.comThursday night football injuries: Keenan Allen, Harrison Butker out, Chargers CB JC Jackson questionable
A couple of big names will miss the much-anticipated AFC West match-up between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night. The Chargers already ruled out wide receiver Keenan Allen and tight end Donald Parham Jr. with hamstring injuries while the Chiefs will be without kicker Harrison Butker, who suffered an ankle injury. Chargers cornerback J.C Jackson is questionable with an ankle injury after missing Week 1.

Hired by the Chargers in January 2017, Lynn was the first Black head coach in franchise history and had one year remaining on his contract.

Rams' Goff dislocates thumb, Jets' Gore has chest injury
(AP Photo/Elaine Thompson)Jared Goff popped his dislocated right thumb thumb back into place and kept playing. “It’s OK right now," said Goff, who was 23 of 42 for 224 yards and an interception in the Rams' 20-9 loss at Seattle on Sunday. In East Rutherford, New Jersey, Frank Gore ran his way to another career milestone and then was forced to watch the New York Jets' second win from the sideline. — Baltimore center Patrick Mekari left the Ravens' 27-13 win over the New York Giants with a back injury. — Carolina left tackle Trent Scott left early in the third quarter of the Panthers' 20-13 win over Washington with a shoulder injury and did not return.
Chargers win third straight as Herbert sets rookie TD mark
Herbert, the sixth overall pick in the April draft and third QB taken, completed 21 of 33 passes for 253 yards. Badgley also split the uprights from 43 yards late in the second quarter to extend LA’s lead to 13-0 at halftime. After the Chargers went three-and-out, Drew Lock scored on a 1-yard keeper for Denver's first rushing touchdown in seven games. And after Badgley's late field goal, the Broncos got to midfield. McManus then had a 37-yard field goal attempt bounce off the left upright, his first miss inside 40 yards since 2017.
Dwayne Haskins starts for Washington despite breaking rules

Philadelphia receiver DeSean Jackon is active against Dallas after missing two months with an ankle injury. Harrison being inactive against the Rams comes as the Seahawks welcome defensive tackle Bryan Mone back from injured reserve following a lengthy stint because of an ankle injury. The Rams were without rookie running back Cam Akers, who had already been ruled out with an ankle injury. Washington: QB Alex Smith, RB Lamar Miller, WR Terry McLaurin, OT David Steinmetz, LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, LB Thomas Davis.
The Latest: Steelers get AFC berth, Packers clinch NFC North
The Chargers and Falcons are tied at 17 midway through the fourth quarter. Kenny Moore also starred for the Colts with a spectacular one-handed, diving end-zone interception in the second quarter. Adams didn’t do much other than run the scrambling Darnold to the sideline midway through the second quarter. Seattle took its opening possession and got 19-yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Freddie Swain. Mack also recovered a Duke Johnson fumble in the first quarter and deflected a Watson pass in the second quarter.
Matchup of division leaders: Seahawks vs Giants. The Giants?
(AP Photo/Chris Szagola)In this strangest of NFL seasons in this weirdest of years, here's a matchup of division leaders you wouldn't expect: Seattle hosting the New York Giants. “If you win your division, you win your division,” Carroll says, and he knows: Seattle went 7-9 in 2010 and won the NFC West, then beat New Orleans in a playoff game. Patrick Mahomes has thrown for at least 300 yards seven times this season and has 22 straight games with at least one TD passing. New England has won the past five meetings, including a 2018 divisional playoff game. Chargers WR Keenan Allen leads the NFL with 85 receptions and has a TD catch in five straight games.
Dolphins earn 5th straight win by beating Chargers 29-21
Tua Tagovailoa had help from a less-heralded rookie while Justin Herbert struggled against a relentless pass rush, and the surprising Dolphins earned their fifth consecutive victory by beating the Los Angeles Chargers 29-21 Sunday. The Chargers could never catch up after they were hurt by two mistakes in the kicking game that allowed Miami to take a 14-0 lead. “I was disappointed in the special teams and some of the things that went on there. “It changed the momentum.”SPECIALMost lopsided of all was the special teams matchup. Jakeem Grant, the NFL leader in punt return yards, helped the Dolphins’ field position with three runbacks for 57 yards.

After Badgley's 35-yard field goal on the opening drive, rookie Joe Reed scored his first NFL touchdown on a 7-yard jet sweep around right end.
