WATCH: Alec Baldwin ends his 4 year run as Donald Trump on SNL
He even offered a throwback to one of his infamous '90s-era lines, calling President Donald Trump a “Looooosseer!” to laughs and applause. Carrey and Rudolph each made an L out of their hands and held them to their foreheads and were joined by Alec Baldwin, reprising his role as Trump. Chappelle hosted “SNL” in November 2016 in its first episode after Trump’s election, pointedly critiquing the surprise over the result. “You know, I didn't know Donald Trump was going to win the election,” Chapelle said four years ago. “SNL” has regularly lampooned Trump and his presidency in recent years, enlisting Baldwin to play the commander in chief.

(Will Heath/NBC via AP)LOS ANGELES – “Saturday Night Live” went political with a parody of this week’s presidential debate, Chris Rock's jab at President Donald Trump and Megan Thee Stallion's message supporting Black people during her performance. The NBC late-night sketch series on Saturday night jumped into the reenactment of the recent debate between Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden. The series opened its 46th season, returning to the studio this week after the coronavirus pandemic halted production. Alec Baldwin returned to play Trump before the president’s COVID diagnosis, while Jim Carrey made his feature debut as Biden. “President Trump is in the hospital from COVID, and I just want to say that my heart goes out to COVID,” he joked.
Obama to join Kamala Harris for 2 Democratic fundraisers
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Former President Barack Obama will join Kamala Harris for a pair of fundraisers next week in support of the Democratic ticket, the pair's first events together since Harris became Joe Biden's running mate. Harris campaigned for Obama in Iowa during the 2008 presidential primary, when she was San Francisco's district attorney. Harris was the first woman and Black person elected to that job, just two years after Obama became the nation's first Black president. People will be able to join even if they contribute just $1, the campaign aide said. Harris has headlined more than a dozen fundraisers for the campaign since joining the ticket.

Backstage at the Oscars: Dazed winners and sweet reunions
Diane Keaton, left, and Keanu Reeves appear on stage at the Oscars on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Martin paced back and forth in the wings and stopped a few times to check his lapel and bow tie in the mirror. Later Corden ran into Rudolph and Wiig again, this time in his full “Cats” regalia alongside Rebel Wilson. MAKING PLANSYou never know who you’re going to run into backstage at the Oscars, or who you’re going to see making plans, Iike Chris Rock and Timothée Chalamet or Rami Malek and Oscar Isaac. In the wings they shared a sweet moment: Reeves offered Keaton his arm and the two walked into position linked.
Hanks, Fonda and more stars amuse at Oscars rehearsals
(AP Photo/John Locher)LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell are standing on the Oscars stage performing some hilarious material for a few dozen people who are in stitches watching the two comedians. Louis-Dreyfus and Ferrell are just a few of the stars who circulated in and out of the Dolby Theatre to rehearse Saturday, including Tom Hanks, Salma Hayek, Jane Fonda and Mahershala Ali. But the stars weren’t always confined to the stage, especially if they arrived a little early. Makeup artists Antonio Rael has been standing in for big stars for 34 years. Rael was talking about the stand-ins but that doesn’t mean some of the stars aren’t anxious as well.
Kamala Harris kind of digs Maya Rudolph's 'SNL' impression
(CNN) - Maya Rudolph returned to "Saturday Night Live" to skewer Sen. Kamala Harris. But Harris, it seems, approves of her impression. Rudolph parodied the Democratic presidential candidate on "SNL's" 45th season premiere, and naturally, Harris' now-famous "that girl was me" line got ample airtime. She was joined by Larry David as Sen. Bernie Sanders and host Woody Harrelson as former Vice President Joe Biden, sporting a set of sparkling white veneers. Will Rudolph, like Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, pop up throughout the season if her character makes an impact ahead of the 2020 election?
