Richard Golden was sentenced to 366 days in prison by a judge Friday, and will also have to pay restitution for extradition costs. He could have faced up to 15 years in prison.

A man accused of threatening to kill the Volusia County Sheriff entered a plea Monday morning. Richard Golden pleaded no contest, just moments before his trial was set to start.

The guard was punched in the head multiple times during the altercation.
