In the midst of all of this, a representative of HG Vora added to the board. This is a critical time for the company, and the board should be commended for adding a shareholder representative to the board to assist in this important analysis and decision. Having an institutional shareholder representative on a board at a time like this is like having free access to an investment bank that does not care about fees, only shareholder value.

Office Depot has rejected another takeover attempt by office supply rival Staples, according to a letter sent Tuesday by a company executive. However, the parent company of Office Depot, ODP, said it is open to a different kind of a deal, such as selling its retail and e-commerce businesses to Staples or agreeing to a joint venture, according to the report. He wrote the letter to Stefan Kaluzny, the managing director of Sycamore Partners and a board member of USR Parent, the subsidiary over Staples. Staples has sought to buy Office Depot's parent company, ODP, two other times. Along with Office Depot, ODC also owns OfficeMax, another chain of office supply stores, and CompuCom, an information technology company.

"Our search and rescue volunteers give us themselves and their time selflessly to try to rescue folks that have become lost. And this is an example of what they are willing to give," said San Bernardo County Sheriff John McMahon. Staples was one of the 126 people working in 23 teams searching large sections of Mount Baldy for the missing hiker, Sree Mokkapati, of Irvine, last seen December 8 hiking on Mount Baldy. Sree Mokkapati, 52, has been missing since December 8, 2019, when he was separated from his hiking group on Mount Baldy.
