The Oakland Athletics have cleared a major hurdle for their planned relocation to Las Vegas after the Nevada Legislature gave final approval to public funding for a portion of a proposed $1.5 billion stadium with a retractable roof.

The Nevada Senate adjourned on Thursday without voting on a a financing bill for a proposed $1.5 billion Las Vegas Strip stadium for the Oakland Athletics, extending the special legislative session into the next week amid negotiations over whether to contribute $380 million in public funding to the project.
Betting sites offer software blocks for compulsive gamblers

Unibet last week announced it was making software from U.K.-based Gamban available to customers in the U.S. The software blocks thousands of licensed and unlicensed gambling sites and is constantly updated to add new ones as they appear. And states including New Jersey offer state-administered self-exclusion lists where gamblers can prohibit themselves from gambling for differing periods, or permanently. โWe strongly support the ability of gamblers to self-exclude through both the operator and on their own personal devices,โ he said.
Fewer brackets but same number plan bets on March Madness

(AP Photo/Wayne Parry)ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. โ Fewer Americans expect to fill out brackets for the NCAA's college basketball tournament this year, but the overall number of people making bets on March Madness should remain about the same as the last time the tournament was held, according to the gambling industry's national trade association. The American Gaming Association released figures Sunday predicting that more than 47 million Americans plan to make a bet โ legal or otherwise โ on March Madness this year. That's about the same number that said they planned to bet on the 2019 tournament. โThe sports betting landscape has changed dramatically since 2019, and as a result, tournament betting has transformed,โ AGA President and CEO Bill Miller said.

Casino gambling, internet gambling, sports betting and daily fantasy sports are no longer separate silos with unique audiences: Gambling companies are increasingly combining them and partnering with media companies to expand the reach of gambling. Morgan Stanley sees a $15 billion sports betting and internet gambling market by 2025, and Macquarie Research says that same market could be $30 billion by 2030. Morgan Stanley said sports betting and internet gambling revenue reached $3.1 billion in the U.S. last year, well outpacing its forecast of $2 billion.
Caesars Entertainment buys bookmaker William Hill for $3.7B

In Atlantic City, William Hill sports books operate at the Ocean Casino Resort, Tropicana, Bally's and Harrah's.
Trop boss makes 4 of 9 Atlantic City casinos run by women
JOHN J DELANEY HOMES โ Four of Atlantic City's nine casinos will be run by women, following Wednesday's appointment of a veteran female executive to run the Tropicana. Caesars Entertainment named Jacqueline Grace as senior vice president and general manager of Tropicana, one of four casinos it currently operates in Atlantic City. Grace becomes the second Black woman in charge of an Atlantic City casino, joining the Borgata president, Melonie Johnson. โI started my gaming career in Atlantic City and Iโm thrilled to return and join one of the top destinations in the market,โ Grace said in a statement. Grace has more than 20 years' experience in the casino industry, most recently having served as vice president and assistant general manager at Caesars Entertainmentโs Horseshoe Baltimore property.
