ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left a 44-year-old man dead early Sunday morning, troopers said.
Anthony Hanks, of Orlando, was driving south on Lakeville Road around 12:30 a.m. when his car crossed into the northbound lane, the Highway Patrol said. Hanks' car then hit the guardrail, partially ejecting him from the vehicle, troopers said.
The car then re-entered the southbound lane and hit another guardrail before once again crossing over to the northbound lane, the FHP said. Hanks' car and upper body both hit the guardrail on the northbound lane, pinning him between the car and the guardrail, troopers said.
Hanks was pronounced dead at the scene, the Highway Patrol said.
