I-4 reopens in Maitland after dump truck hauling sand overturns

Wreck causes major traffic jam

MAITLAND, Fla. – A dump truck carrying sand overturned Thursday morning on Interstate 4, blocking the interstate near Maitland Boulevard.

All lanes of I-4 east were blocked near Exit 90, backing up traffic during the morning commute.

The interstate was later reopened.

It's not known if anyone was injured.

Details about the crash are not known.

Meanwhile, a fatal crash closed Pleasant Hill Road between Poinciana Boulevard and Cypress Parkway in Osceola County, delaying school buses in and out of Poinciana, officials said.

"Parents and students are asked for their patience as we deal with the delays and get everyone to school safely," the Osceola County School District posted to its Facebook page.

No further details were released.
