"There is a big 90-degree turn on that road and he was drunk," Palm Bay police Lt. Mike Bandish told News 6 partner Florida Today.
Police said they could smell alcohol on Landreth when they approached him. His eyes were watery and bloodshot and his speech was slurred, according to officials. Police determined he was unable to safely operate the vehicle.
The passenger suffered an injury, but no other details are known.
Landreth was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence and DUI with personal injury and damage. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
