Woman dies in head-on crash with delivery truck in Orlando

Witness says wreck appeared to be intentional

ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman was killed early Friday in Orlando in what appears to be a head-on crash with a delivery truck, police said.

The fatal wreck was reported at 2:50 a.m. in the 1800-1900 block of Mercy Drive near Princeton.

Orlando police said an initial investigation shows that the woman was likely traveling at a high rate of speed when she struck the truck.

"She looked like she wanted to kill herself," a witness said. "She just rammed the car head-on right into, you know what I'm saying, the truck."

The witness said the woman's car then flipped a couple of times.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mercy Drive was closed between Princeton and New Hampshire streets, but reopened just after 8 a.m. Friday.

An investigation is ongoing.
