Heathrow woman, 21, killed when car hits dump truck on I-4, FHP says

FHP investigates crash in Altamonte Springs

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – A 21-year-old Heathrow woman was killed late Tuesday in a crash on I-4 in Seminole County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The FHP said Marissa Lybarger died in the crash, which was reported on I-4 east between state roads 434 and 436 in Altamonte Springs.

Troopers said Lybarger was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu and failed to slow as she approached a dump truck. The front of her car hit the rear of the truck, troopers said.

Lybarger was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

It's not known if Lybarger was wearing a seat belt or if alcohol played a role in the crash, the FHP said.

The dump truck driver, a 59-year-old Orlando man, was not injured, according to the FHP.

Eastbound lanes of I-4 were closed for hours because of the crash but were later reopened.
