Driver, 69, found dead after car crashes into Orange County pond

Fatal crash reported on Landstar Boulevard near Misley Drive

A fatal crash is investigated in Orange County.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 69-year-old Orlando man was found dead Wednesday morning after his vehicle overturned into an Orange County pond, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Gabriel Joseph died in the crash, which was reported around 6:10 a.m. on Landstar Boulevard near Misley Drive, south of State Road 417.

Troopers said Joseph was driving a 2001 Toyota SUV south on Landstar when the vehicle left the road for an unknown reason, overturned and became partially submerged in the pond.

Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene.

Joseph  was wearing a seat belt, according to an FHP report.

Southbound lanes of Landstar were closed in the area.

No other details have been released.
